Specialty Workshops — One-of-a-kind workshops with an end in sight. Does Mother's Day lead you to thoughts of your own mothers? Does Father's Day bring up adventures with your father? Maybe you want to write about being a mother, father, grandmother or grandfather? Write holiday memories for the holidays, or summer memories before the July 4th party. Given sufficient time, we can also find beautiful ways to present these words as gifts.

Legacy Letter — Based on the Old Testament tradition of leaving an Ethical Will, a Legacy Letter is a personal statement of the values and meaning gathered from your life, your family and your friends. We’ll start a will in the workshop, but most likely you’ll finish it in the privacy of your home.

Beginning Your Memoirs — In this one-time workshop, I launch you on your memoir journey. I'll help you get over that initial fear of beginning and assist you in organizing your memories. We'll talk about how to think of experiences in vivid, sensory ways, how to write with detail and not become overwhelmed by the process. You'll leave with handouts to keep you going.

Memoir-writing — An on-going writing workshop meeting weekly or bi-weekly. We'll go deeper than we could in Beginning Your Memoirs, working with memory triggers to help you write with detail and really focus on the work. We’ll also talk about working through blocks, dealing with difficult material, and further issues of organization. For feedback, encouragement and inspiration, you’ll read from your work.

Photograph Album — Begin to write the stories behind your favorite pictures, you might not stop!

Cookbook Legacy — For the cooks among us, because sometimes it’s a taste that’s worth a thousand words. Gather your recipes, tell the stories behind them and get a family or group cookbook going.

Staff workshops — For hospitals, assisted living centers and other institutions, I offer in-service training in developing a listening ear, so you can assist your clients in creating a life story or ethical will.

You Talk, I Write — Organized for assisted living centers, I sit with a small group and we all tell stories. Afterwards, I create a group booklet of the session for each participant.
